Suggest Cart Entries Based on Tests to Perform

Note: Because LabOnline is customizable based on laboratory needs, some of the options referenced in the steps and images below may not be available or may be named differently. Direct any questions to your laboratory.

To suggest containers by test, follow these steps:.

1. Select Orders from the LabOnline main menu, then choose Collection Supplies from the sub-menu.

2. Click Place New Order on the top right of the page to open a new Collection Supplies record.

   Follow the steps for placing new supply orders.
3. Select a client name in the Client drop-down list for the order.
4. On the Collection Supplies page, select a Client Name and enter a date in the Desired ship date field.
5. Click the Containers tab on the Catalog grid
   

6. Click the Suggest containers by test link above the Cart grid on the right side of the page.

7. In the Suggest Containers window, enter the a number of samples you expect to collect before placing your next order in the Number of samplesNumber of samples field and select the type of material you will collect in the Matrix drop-down list.

8. The Choose Tests button enables after you select a matrix. Click Choose Tests.

9. In the Available Tests grid, select the tests you plan to order and use the arrows to place them in the Selected Tests grid on the right.

   To select multiple rows, select one row, press Shift or Ctrl, and select additional rows with your mouse or arrow keys. Use the Search field above the Available Tests grid to search by a specific test.

   The Search is not case sensitive and includes partial matches. Use the scroll bar to the right or the Search field above the Available Tests panel to find specific tests.

10. Click Done

11. The Suggest Containers button enables after you select at least one test. Click Suggest Containers.
    

12. Click Add to Cart

13. The suggested parts appear in the Cart grid. Click Save to complete the order.

Suggest Containers Window Field Descriptions

Fields	Additional Details
Number of samples	Number of samples that will be collected.
Matrix drop-down list	Sample matrix, indicating the type of material to be tested. The dropdown lists available matrices. A selection filters the available tests to choose.
Choose Tests button	Pops a window to choose the tests associated with the supply order. Populates the Tests grid. The button is disabled until a matrix is selected.

Fields	Additional Details
Test	Test code.
Test Description	A description of the test.
Suggest Containers button	Populates the containers grid with suggested supplies based on the selected tests. The button is disabled until Number of samples is entered and at least one test is selected.

Containers

Fields	Additional Details
Part ID	Unique laboratory identifier for the part (i.e., the kit or container).
Description	Description of the part.
Preservative	Sample preservative inside the part. Preservatives are used to prevent reduction or loss of target analytes. Shows the type of preservative substance. Editable for container part selections.
Quantity	Number of containers or kits of this part ID to order based on the number of samples and the number of containers required for each selected test.
