Search the Test Catalog

The Test Catalog page lists tests and services performed by the laboratory. The test details page provides important information about each test, such as the analytes that are included, the types of sampling material on which it can be performed, and any special collection requirements.

Note: Because LabOnline is customizable based on laboratory needs, some of the options referenced in the steps and images below may not be available or may be named differently. Direct any questions to your laboratory.

To search the Test Catalog, follow these steps:

1. Select Test Catalog from the LabOnline main menu. All currently available tests published by the laboratory appear in the grid.
   

2. To search for a test by test name, test code, alias, or analyte, enter criteria in the Search field on the right side above the grid. All searches are executed as a partial, case-insensitive search. Press Enter or click the Search button to execute your search.

   Note: The search only searches for analytes of direct tasks. For mapped tests, the search does not include analytes of constituent tests.

3. Any mapped tests are listed under a bold heading in the Name and Test Code columns. Click the arrow in the unlabeled column to expand and see nested constituent tests of a mapped test in the grid.

4. Click the link in the Name column to view details for a specific test or service. The Test Details page is read-only and cannot be edited.

Test Catalog Page Field Descriptions

Field	Additional Details
(Unlabeled column)	Displays an icon when the test is mapped and includes at least one published constituent test. Click the link to expand the grid to include the constituent tests.
Name	Description of the test. Click the link to view test details.
Test Code	Laboratory identifier for the test.

Test Details Panel

Field	Additional Details
Test Description	Description of the test.
Patient consent form required	Whether a consent form is required from the patient to perform the test.

Analytes Grid

The Analytes grid lists the reported analytes, compounds, drugs, or parameters associated with the test.

Field	Additional Details
Name	Code and description of the analyte. If the analyte is reported using a different name, it appears in parentheses at the end of the description.

Constituents Grid

The Constituents grid only appears for mapped tests. It lists the individual tests that are performed when you order the mapped test.

Field	Additional Details
Test	Laboratory identifier for the scheduled test.
Description	The description of the scheduled test.

Test Matrices Grid

The Matrices grid lists the sampling materials on which the test can be performed.

Field	Additional Details
Description	Description of the matrix, indicating the type of material that can be tested.

Test Aliases Grid

The Test Aliases grid lists alternate terms for the test.

Field	Additional Details
Type	Alias type or category.
Alias	Alternate term for the test. You can search the test catalog using an alias.
Description	Description of the test alias.

Collection Section

Containers Grid

The containers grid lists the container collection requirements for the test. The test can be performed using any one of the container types listed.

Field	Additional Details
Container Type	Type of container required to handle samples associated with the test. If more than one type is listed, the test can be performed using any one of the container types.
Preservative	Name of the preservative to add to the container.
Expected Volume	Volume of sample to collect.
Minimum Volume	Minimum volume of sample to collect.
Notes	Any notes regarding collection.

Field	Additional Details
Ship samples on the same day as collection	Whether samples should ship on the same day on which they are collected.

Stability Grid

The Stability grid lists the maximum amount of time between sample collection and testing at the required storage temperatures.

Column	Additional Details
Sort	Display order for the stability at each temperature
Temperature	Temperature requirement to achieve the listed stability. This is typically a description, such as 'Frozen' or 'Ambient'.
Stability	Stability of the item.
Units	Units of stability.
Notes	Any notes regarding stability at this temperature.

Field	Additional Details
Stability comments	Any additional collection instructions related to stability for the test.

Comments Section

Field	Additional Details
Analysis scope	Any comments regarding the scope of the test.
Analysis purpose	Any comments regarding the purpose of the test.
