Run Ad Hoc Queries
You can run predefined queries to get quick access to data that might
otherwise be difficult or inconvenient to pull from LabOnline. Queries
provide the ability to limit data searches with lab-defined common filters;
in addition, you can add your own criteria to the pre-defined queries
giving you more flexibility to narrow searches and return the exact subset
of data. Your data results are returned as an Excel
file. The Excel file is also saved so that the query output is available to you later through Other reports.
To run an ad-hoc-query, complete these steps:
-
Click Reports from the LabOnline main menu, then select the Queries sub-menu.
The Query Criteria window opens, showing the criteria fields configured by the laboratory. Required fields are indicated by a red asterisk. -
Enter a value for each of required field.
- To (optionally) add more criteria to the query, choose a query column and operator from the blank row. If you need to add more than one additional item, click the Add link next to the last field on the right.
-
Click Done.
The query is executed, written to an Excel file, and downloaded to your computer. The file is also saved in LabOnline and available from the Other Reports feature
